The great battery challenge

Do you know?

  • Every year, UAE residents buy millions of batteries, most of them end up being consumed in landfills.
  • These batteries can take 100 years to decompose.
  • Batteries are made of large quantities of useful materials, such as steel and zinc metals which can be easily recycled just as newspapers, soft drinks cans, and plastic bottles.

In September 2018, Bee'ah signed a partnership with Duracell and launched a new interactive recycling competition "The Great Battery Challenge."  Now in its 3rd edition, schools will collect as many used batteries as possible inside the special bin that Bee'ah will provide to your school. The competition will run from January 2022 until June 2022.

Schools that manage to collect the largest quantity of batteries will receive cash prizes:

  • 1st place: AED 7,000.
  • 2nd place: AED 5,000.
  • 3rd place: AED 3,000.
  • Registration for this competition is open from 10th January - 24th January,
  • Use the special bin provided by Duracell to collect batteries.
  • Winners will be determined based on the weight of the combined batteries.
  • All collected batteries must be used in advance.
  • Raise awareness and knowledge in the school community about how important battery recycling is.
  • Take into account security and safety methods in collecting batteries.
  • If the bin gets full, please make an appointment with the team to collect the batteries from your school.

The winners will be announced and honored during June 2022 at a special awards ceremony.

Join us in the Great Battery Challenge to help save the environment and help your schools win major cash prizes.
